Coffee & Tea Wash

Two of the easiest, most accessible inks in any kitchen.

Color
Sepia, warm brown
Yield
Varies
Shelf life
1 week refrigerated

Brew coffee or tea ten times stronger than you'd drink it, then reduce it on the stove.

  • The longer you simmer, the darker and more glossy it gets.
  • Tea makes warm orange-browns; coffee makes earthier browns.
  • Easiest possible ink — already in your kitchen.

Steps

  1. 01

Brew coffee or tea as concentrated as possible.

  2. 02

Reduce on low heat until syrupy.
