Corn Husk Paper

After the corn roast, save the husks.

Cook dried corn husks soft, beat them, and form sheets.

  • Free byproduct of the corn harvest.
  • Gives a creamy yellow color and visible fiber texture.
  • Stronger than it looks; great for envelopes and tags.

Steps

  1. 01

    Cut husks into small squares.

  2. 02

    Cook 2 hours in washing-soda water until soft.

  3. 03

    Rinse well, blend to smooth pulp.

  4. 04

    Pull sheets normally; press and dry.
